Landmark Chicago Gallery
Along the Western corridor leading to the
Museum of Broadcast Communications, the Landmark Chicago Gallery displays
photography and architectural artifacts from the permanent collection of
the Commission on Chicago Landmarks.
Michigan Avenue Galleries
On Michigan Avenue side of the building, along
the eastern corridor, the Michigan Avenue Galleries showcase the work of
local and emerging artists.
Shaw Chicago presents staged
readings in the Studio Theater.
In addtion to the exhibition spaces, the
first floor of the Cultural Center also features the Dance Studio
and Studio Theater. The Dance Studio,administered by Hedwig Dances, provides performance and rehearsal space for local dance companies. Hedwig Dances also presents workshops and free public performances in the Dance Studio.
The Studio Theater is located just off
the western corridor and is accessed through Renaissance Court. This "black
box" space provides a venue for experimental theater, staged readings,
poetry, lectures, and other programs.
The Studio Theater serves as a performance
stage for ShawChicago, CityLit Theater, Primus Theatre, and others. |
