New lane configuration and exit ramp closure planned along South Lake Shore Drive this Thursday
As the South Lake Shore Drive project progresses, drivers will be affected by lane and ramp work. Here's what drivers will find:
- Weather permitting on Thursday (April 17), northbound traffic between 47th and 23rd Streets will be switched onto new pavement. Reconstruction will commence on the remaining northbound lanes.
- Also this Thursday, work crews will close the exit ramp from northbound Lake Shore Drive to Oakwood Blvd. for reconstruction. This closure is expected to last about a month. As a detour, drivers should continue north to 31st Street, reenter the southbound side of the Drive, and return to Oakwood.
