Section of 67th Street closed tomorrow and northbound Lake Shore Drive lane closure Monday morning

As the South Lake Shore Drive reconstruction project progresses, drivers should adjust their travel plans due to additional closures this weekend and Monday morning. Here's what drivers will find:
  • From 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday (May 31), a one-block section of 67th Street between Oglesby Avenue and South Shore Drive will be closed.
  • Eastbound 67th Street traffic seeking access to South Shore Drive should turn right (south) at Oglesby Ave. and then left (east) at 69th Street. South Shore Drive traffic seeking access to 67th Street should continue north into Jackson Park and then west along Marquette Drive. At Jeffery Drive, drivers should turn left (south) and travel one block to 67th Street.
  • This temporary closure is necessary to safely construct a sewer connection across 67th Street.
  • Then, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday (June 2), northbound Lake Shore Drive traffic will be down to one open lane at 47th Street.
  • Drivers should expect delays and consider using an alternate route such as Cottage Grove Avenue or King Drive.
  • Workers will be pouring concrete for the new northbound lanes.
