Expect lane closures overnight tonight and tomorrow along South Lake Shore Drive

As the South Lake Shore Drive reconstruction project progresses, drivers can expect possible delays overnight for the next two nights. Here's what drivers will find:
  • From 10 p.m. tonight through 5 a.m. Tuesday morning (July 1) and again 10 p.m. Tuesday night to 5 a.m. Wednesday morning (July 2), traffic will be down to one lane in each direction in the Burnham Park section of South Lake Shore Drive between 23rd Street and 55th Street.
  • The lane closures are necessary for work crews to safely prepare the roadway with new lane markings, with the goal of reopening all lanes to traffic Wednesday (July 2).
