Expect possible delays due to lane closures throughout South Lake Shore Drive work zone

As the South Lake Shore Drive reconstruction project progresses, drivers should expect possible delays in areas of both Burnham and Jackson Parks. Here's what drivers will find:
  • In Jackson Park:
    • Beginning at 7 p.m. tonight (July 16) through 5 a.m. Thursday morning (July 17), northbound Lake Shore Drive from Hayes Drive (6300 south) to 57th Drive will be down to one lane.
    • The lane reduction is necessary for work crews to safely pour concrete for new lanes.
  • In Burnham Park:
    • Beginning at 3 p.m. Thursday (July 17) for about one week, the right lane northbound at Oakwood Blvd. (3900 south) will be closed due to overhead work on the Oakwood Bridge.
    • In other areas, drivers should expect intermittent non-rush hour lane closures in both directions between 23rd Street and 57th Drive.
