Southbound lane to close Monday along South Lake Shore Drive

Lane closures return to the Burnham Park section of South Lake Shore Drive. Next weekÕs activity marks the first step towards the upcoming reconstruction of the DriveÕs northbound lanes. HereÕs what drivers will find:
  • Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday (Jan 20), southbound traffic will be reduced from three lanes to two lanes from 47th to 53rd Streets.
  • The lane closure is necessary so that construction crews may safely configure the southbound lanes for use by both directions of traffic, which is scheduled to begin Jan. 27.
