The Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection (BACP) regulates and hears cases regarding business license issues; conducts hearings and issues disciplinary action when businesses are found to be in violation of the Chicago Municipal Code.
BACP protects the public from unfair and deceptive practices; enforces consumer protection ordinances and licensing of businesses in Chicago.
BACP also protects the safety of the public by identifying and removing dangerous products and by notifying consumers of those products.
