RSSPublic Vehicles
BACP oversees the licensing of Chicago’s public chauffeurs and public vehicles including taxicabs, liveries, charter and site seeing buses, horse drawn carriages, ambulances, water taxis and tour boats. Public Chauffeur Information

Taxicab And Medallion Information

MPEA & Ground Transportation Tax Registration
Public vehicles are required to pay certain taxes. You can register online your Ground Transportation Tax emblems and MPEA Airport Departure Tax emblems.

Voice a complaint with BACP under the following categories: General Consumer Complaint, Consumer Fraud, Taxicab Complaint, Cable Television Complaint, Complain About A Liquor License Establishment, Complain About A Restaurant, Complain About A Retail Store , Complain About A Motor Vehicle Repair Shop or to report a Business Operating Without a License call 311.

Public Chauffeur Licensing Section & Cashiering: 8:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.
Public Vehicle/Medallion Licensing Section: 8:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.
Please be advised, due to high volume and necessary processing time, to ensure that everyone is serviced before the facility closes at 4:30 P.M.:
► Chauffeur licensees must check-in at the reception desk before 2:00 P.M.
► Public Vehicle / Medallion licensees must check-in at the reception desk before 3:00 P.M.
► For public safety and security, if building capacity has reached maximum allowable, the front door may be locked to prevent more people from entering the building.
