Low Alert E-Plan Update: Tech Support and Classes

April 24, 2013

Dear Architecture and Design Professionals,

As you are aware, the Department of Buildings transitioned from a paper-based plan review system to an electronic plan review system (E-Plan) on July 2, 2012.  We are happy to report that the Department of Buildings currently has less than a half dozen paper plans in for a new initial review and the department is fully running electronically.  We greatly appreciate your input throughout this process.

Based on the feedback we've received, we put together the attached technical support information to assist you with frequently asked questions, which can serve as a companion guide to the original user guide you received.   The technical support information includes solutions to the problems most commonly described by first time E-Plan users.

E-Plan Review Orientation Classes Every Monday Until Further Notice

For users who need some additional training on E-Plan (ProjectDox) we continue to offer classes every Monday at 1:00pm.  Please see below for class dates, times, and locations.

Event Dates: Every Monday

Class Time: 1:00 - 3:30 pm

Event Location: 121 N. LaSalle St

                           DOB Room 906

                           Large Conference Room

Registration: Space is limited to 10 individuals per class, so we ask that only one or two members of your firm attend.  Click on this link to register

We look forward to continuing our work together to successfully complete this transition and fully utilize E-Plan, a time and cost savings initiative.

If you have any questions or comments regarding E-Plan, or any solutions that you believe could be added to the technical support attachment, please feel free to email us at eplan@cityofchicago.org.

Sincerely,

Michael R. Merchant
