Trade Licensing Exam Schedule and Applications

  
  The following is the complete exam schedule and related material for the following trades:

  • Stationary Engineer
  • Crane Operator
  • Electrician
  • Elevator
  • Journeyman Plumber
  • Mason Contractor

Please Note: certain First-time Licensing Applicants will be Processed by Continental Testing Services.

    
Crane Operator Written Exam Schedule    
Exam date: January 28, 2012
First day to submit application: October 24, 2011
Application due at 120 N. Racine no later than December 30, 2011

Renewing Plumbing Contractor License

 

1)   Bond

If you are renewing the same bond, email it to DOBlicense@cityofchicago.org. You must include your license number in your email.

 

2)  New Bonds

If you have a new bond number, please mail the original bond that has a raised seal or gold seal to:

City of Chicago, Dept of Buildings
Bureau of Licensing
120 N. Racine Ave.
Chicago, IL 60607

In both cases the bond will be entered into the Bureau of Licensing computer no later then 4:30 pm on the date it is received.

 

2)   Paying for the License

Chicago Journeyman/Chicago Plumbing Contractor – the day after your bond is received you must renew online by going to the Trade Licensing Renewal with Instructions page.

 

 3) For a 058 Plumbing Contractor

The day after your bond is received, please call (312) 743 9061 to pay with a credit card.
