Committee on Standards and Tests

The Committee on Standards and Tests is a committee of building industry technical professional and City staff established by the Chicago Municipal Code under Chapter 13-16. The purpose of the committee is to review the suitability of new systems and methods of construction, new types of equipment, or new combinations of materials not currently permitted or recognized by the Code in order to determine if the new materials, equipment or methods of construction are equal to or better than the requirements of the Chicago Building Code. The Committee meets once a month.
