
Sandra Alfred was named Executive Director of Animal Care & Control by Mayor Rahm Emanuel on April 1, 2012.
Sandra has been employed with the City of Chicago since 1988. She has been at Chicago Animal Care & Control since 2000, in the role of Deputy Director. Sandra looks forward to serving in her new role of Executive Director, collaborating with various agencies and continue to provide humane temporary shelter of lost & unwanted animals in the City of Chicago. She will continue to enforce laws involving animals that pose a risk to public safety.
