In Chicago, only three other agencies are allowed to accept strays.  Nearly half of the 24,000 animals taken in at ACC each year are strays.

We are open for the drop-off of lost pet or unwanted animals 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

To redeem your lost pet, a valid photo ID is required to sign in at the facility and proof of animal ownership (veterinary records, purchase receipt, or pictures of the pet) must be provided.  Redemption fees will vary per situation.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

12:15 p.m. 1:15 p.m. 2:15 p.m.
4:15 p.m. 5:15 p.m. 6:15 p.m.

No Tour at 3:15 p.m.

Fees:

Impoundment Fee for Licensed Stray  - $30.00                        Impoundment Fee for Unlicensed Stray - $60.00
Impoundment Fee for 2 or more times - $90.00 Daily Housing Fee - $8.00
License Fees Unneutered Dog - $50.00 Neutered Dog - $ 5.00
Unneutered Dog (senior citizen) - $5.00 Neutered Dog (senior citizen) - $5.00
Sterilization (Spay/Neuter) - $25.00 Microchip - $15.00
Rabies Vaccination - $15.00 Owner Request Euthanasia - $10.00
  Biter Impoundment Fee plus mandatory Rabies Vaccination and if dog, City License - $150.00
