Volunteer for the Chicago Conservation Corps

The Chicago Conservation Corps (C3) recruits, trains, and supports a network of volunteers who work together to improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods and schools through environmental service projects.

If you have an interest in environmental issues and wish to make a difference in your neighborhood, get involved in one of the following C3 programs:

Environmental Leadership Training

Each spring and fall, adult residents of Chicago can apply to C3’s Environmental Leadership Training program. Learn about conservation issues in Chicago and techniques in community organizing in a series of classes, then receive support from C3 staff to design and implement a conservation service project in your neighborhood.

Student Clubs

Chicago Public School teachers can apply to start an after-school consStudents sitting next to solar panelservation club for 8th-12th grade students. Students in these clubs assess conservation practices in their schools, focusing on land use, waste management, air quality, energy conservation, water conservation and water quality issues.  Based on the results of their assessments, Clubs then implement projects to meet the conservation needs identified.

Explorer Environmental Service in Chicago
C3 Explorer Projects are one-time environmental volunteer opportunities for Chicagoans who want to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods, but lack the time to commit to C3s Environmental Leadership Training Program. Many of these projects are run in conjunction with C3’s Partner Organizations.
