The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced today that starting on Monday, August 17th, the City will be performing construction work on Garland Court in the Loop in preparation for reversing the flow of traffic on the northbound street to southbound between Randolph Street and Washington Street.

The work will involve removal of a concrete bump-out section of sidewalk at the north end of the block at the corner of Randolph and Garland Court in addition to new pavement striping and installation of signage.

Garland Court will be closed to through traffic during working hours; however access will be maintained for those who live and work on Garland Court. While a lane of traffic will be maintained to allow traffic to exit Garland onto Randolph, a flagger will be present to control the flow of traffic during working hours and drivers can expect occasional short delays.

The reversal of the direction of traffic, which is expected to be put into effect at the end of August, is being carried out at the request of Alderman Brendan Reilly (42nd Ward) in order to accommodate requests from constituents.
