A Message from the Commissioner
Last month, Mayor Rahm Emanual and I convened over 200 public health stakeholders for the release of Healthy Chicago, an agenda for creating a healthy city, healthy neighborhoods, healthy homes and healthy people. Healthy Chicago lays out over 120 strategies in 12 priority areas, with the vision of making us the healthiest city in the nation.
At the public release, we committed to providing an annual report and monthly updates on progress towards Healthy Chicago implementation. This is the first such update. These monthly reports will highlight key activities that have occurred in the prior month across selected priority areas.
I invite you to join us in making our city a Healthy Chicago.
Bechara Choucair, M.D., Commissioner of Public Health
