It is back-to-school time in Chicago and the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) is encouraging all parents to get their children back to school healthy, including making sure your child has all of his or her required immunizations.
Back-to-School Immunization Clinic Dates
New School Requirement (2013-2014 CPS Requirements)
Students entering grades 6-12 now are required to get a Tdap shot before starting the school year. Tdap shots are offered through CDPH immunization clinics and the Chicago Care Van.

CDPH teamed up again with local web developer Tom Kompare to create a new web app that allows parents to track, online or via a mobile device, all CDPH back-to-school vaccination events in their area. CDPH and Kompare first worked together last year to launch an online app that pinpoints CDPH’s yearly community flu vaccine clinics.
Care Van Tour with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois
The CDPH/BCBSIL Chicago Care Van will tour the city to provide students with the required immunizations they need to start the new school year, including a newly required Tdap vaccine for students entering grades 6-12.

Back-to-School with Walgreens
CDPH and Walgreens, together, are educating on the importance of receiving required and recommended back-to-school immunizations for the upcoming school season, and the ease of access and convenience of providers who can deliver on the service.
