Chicago Fire Department Retiree Visits the Fire Boat

On August 20, 2009, Retired Chicago Fire Department Lt. Donald Mergler celebrated his 90^th Birthday. Lt. Mergler retired 30 years ago from the Chicago Fire Department Fire Boat, Engine 58, the Victor Schlaeger.  He spent most of his career assigned to the fire boat.  He and his family went on a tour of Engine 58, joined by Fire Commissioner John Brooks, and members of the fire department to celebrate his 90^th birthday.
