Chicago Fire Department’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week May 17-21, 2010

In recognition of the lifesaving efforts of Emergency Medical Services Specialist in Chicago, and as a means of commemorating EMS Week, Mayor Daley declared May 17 through May 21, 2010 to be EMS Week.  The Chicago Fire Department hosted an Open House Special Event on Wednesday May 19, 2010 at the R.J. Quinn Fire Academy.  This year’s national EMS theme is “EMS-ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, WE’LL BE THERE”

 All resources hospitals participated in various ways, a water rescue demonstration was given by CFD members. The EMS awards ceremony honored numerous uniformed members and civilian hospital staff for their outstanding careers in EMS.
