Hours for new applications are as follows:

Wednesday - Friday: 9 am - 4:30 pm
Saturday: 10 am - 12:30 pm
Sunday: 5 am - 1 pm

Maxwell Street Market is open to the public from 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, Every Sunday, 52 weeks/year.

License Fees

Alternates $50.00 – License Fee

Licenses are renewed annually during the month of August.

Applications

Documentation needed for General Merchandise License:

Drivers License or State ID; or Matricula Consular ID; or Passport
Current Sales IBT (Illinois Business Tax) Certificate

Note: Applicants must bring their current IBT Certificate. IBT numbers can be obtained by applying in person at the Illinois Department of Revenue, located in the basement of the Thompson Center at 100 W. Randolph St. IBT numbers must be issued in the name of an individual; Corporation or LLC will not be accepted.
