Date: June 27-September 15 (44 evenings of dancing in Grant Park)
Festival Times: Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights (from 6:00 to 9:30 pm) and Sunday afternoons (from 4:00 to 7:00 pm)
Estimated Attendance: 2,000+ individuals per event

Demographic Highlights:
- 46% of patrons are between the ages of 50 – 69, 35% are between ages 30 – 49, and 19% are 29 or younger.
- 60% Caucasian, 20% African American, and 20% Latino.
- All education levels are represented: 75% of patrons have a college or a post-graduate degree.
- 64% of patrons earn between $20,000 - $79,000, 24% earn more than $80,000, and 12% earn $20,000 or less.
Description: Chicago SummerDance is an outdoor summer festival that is located in Grant Park along Michigan Avenue in the heart of Chicago’s South Loop. The largest festival of its kind in the United States, Chicagoans and visitors gather each night to participate in an introductory one-hour dance lesson with professional dance instructors. The lesson is followed by two hours of music and dancing on a 4,600 square-foot, open-air dance floor. In any given season, approximately 42 live bands play swing, waltz, salsa, cha-cha, and more. In 2011, SummerDance partnered with the World Music Festival to make our summer season truly special. As a part of this collaboration, an array of international ensembles will perform live at the SummerDance site on September 16 – 18, inviting guests to enjoy exciting musical traditions from around the world. Crowd attendance is expected to peak during these festival dates.
