OnEdge offers Experimental Theater and Dance January 16 – February 1

 

an experimental theater, dance and performance series

January 16 -February 1, 2015

OnEdge dives into themes of identity, modernity and spirituality challenging the audience to reexamine life and culture through intense, contemporary performances by emerging and mid-career artists such as Roger Guenveur Smith (Los Angeles), Richard Maxwell (New York), Michelle Boulé (New York), Eric Hoff & Jesse Morgan Young (Chicago), Daniel Barrow (Montreal) and Kyle deCamp (New York). The series also includes workshops with some of the guest artists.

Performance and workshop locations include the Storefront Theater (66 E. Randolph St.), the Jay Prtizker Pavilion in Millennium Park (201 E. Randolph St.), the DuSable Museum of African American History (740 E. 56th Place), Links Hall (3111 N. Western Ave) and Beauty Bar (1444 W. Chicago Ave).

OnEdge is FREE and seating is available on a first come, first serve basis 30 minutes before each performance.

DCASE Theater & Dance
The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) presents an ongoing performing arts series that showcases both emerging and established music, theater, dance and multi-disciplinary artists at the Chicago Cultural Center and other venues. Dedicated to capacity building in the arts, DCASE hires the artists and provides performance space as well as technical and marketing support.
