May 9 Taste of Chicago 1st Annual Made in Chicago Pop-Up Shopping Event July 9-13 at Grant Park (NEW!) The Chicago Department Cultural Affairs and Special Events will host the 1st Annual Made in Chicago Pop-up Shopping Event at the Annual Taste of Chicago, July 9-13, 2014. There are two seller options available to Chicago-based non-food artisans: July 9, 10, 11 from 11am-6pm, $300; July 12, 13 from 10am-6pm, $300.

In an effort to give this opportunity to as many Chicago-based artisans as possible, you will only be allowed to choose a 3-day or 2-day selling package- subject to change based on the number of qualified vendors. Both packages include: 1 (one) 10’ x 10’ tent, 1 (one) 8’ table, 2 (two) folding chairs. Roaming security is on the premises; however, they are not responsible for watching your product or individual tents.

A total of 20 participants will be chosen based on a timely, complete application submission and the mix of price points and merchandise, as well as volume of inventory available for this sale. Our goal is to include a mix of jewelry, accessory (non-jewelry,) arts & crafts, and apparel designers; and independent boutiques who sell non-food products made in Chicago.

We expect over 1.5 million people to attend the 5-day event. We recognize that your inventories might not support a 5-day event and offer selling opportunities as 3-day and 2-day seller options. We expect this to be a high volume selling opportunity and you must verify that you can support sales for a high volume, multiple-day event.

Consumers at this venue generally purchase items at lower price points- priced no more than $40- and suggest items that are small or could be condensed to be carried in a pocket or handbag or could be worn immediately. If you sell at a higher price point, this event may not be the right fit for your line or you should be prepared to have an "event" sale that brings items to around the $40 range. Please note: You may not sell items that advertise or print that  explicitly states ”Taste of Chicago” as there is a licensed merchant onsite.

All applicants must be able to adhere to the general guidelines for the Taste of Chicago.
