The Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events is now accepting submissions from performers in the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana area ONLY, for consideration to perform at the Chicago Gospel Music Festival. We are looking to showcase the best of both up and coming and well-known favorite groups from the Chicagoland area, as well as young talented artists - including soloists, choirs, praise dancers, mimes and more. Submissions will be accepted November 1 – December 31, 2013. The number of performance slots to be filled will be determined at a later date.
The Chicago Gospel Music Festival has welcomed such performers as Grammy Award Winners - Queen of Gospel Music - Albertina Walker and Shirley Caesar, Fred Hammond, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Byron Cage, Donnie McClurkin, Kirk Franklin, The Rance Allen Group, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, The Clark Sisters, Donald Lawrence, Tye Tribbett & G.A., Marvin Sapp, CeCe Winans, The Williams Brothers, Mary Mary, dozens of Chicagoland artists and so many more.
Please note: If you are not from the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana area, you are not eligible and should NOT submit, as you will not be considered.
All submissions should include a brief bio highlighting past performances, CD or URLs of streaming music, a list of venues/fests you performed at during the last twelve months and up to 3 press clippings. Please make sure to include contact information - an email address, phone number and mailing address.
