DCASE Cultural Grants Program seeks to serve as a catalyst to foster a robust, healthy arts community where artists, nonprofit arts and culture organizations and creative industries thrive. DCASE grant funding provides opportunities for artists and creative professionals to develop or create artistic work, participate in high quality training or professional development opportunities, or create opportunities to engage communities and neighborhoods in an artistic practice/project. The DCASE Cultural Grants Team will offer this workshop for music specific program applicants. This workshop will review updates to grant guidelines and review criteria, and provide tips and guidance to help applicants prepare the strongest, most competitive applications possible.

The goal of the DCASE Individual Artists Program is to discover, nurture, and expand Chicago’s practicing artists and creative professionals. This program is partially supported by a Grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency, through federal funds provided by the National Endowment for the Arts. Through this grant program, DCASE will award grants to Chicago-based artists over 18 years of age, at all career levels and working across numerous disciplines. Grants will be provided for professional development and creative projects. Click here if you are a 2013 IAP Grant recipient.
The DCASE Individual Artists Grant Program includes two different Funding Categories for project-based support:
1. Creation of Artistic Work – Provides project support for practicing artists and creative professionals to develop or create artistic work.
2. Professional Development – Supports professional development opportunities, projects, and programs related to the career of a practicing artist or creative professional.
Note: All applications must be project-based and for the support of a particular project.
**Please Note: Each artist may only apply for ONE grant each year – the artist must choose to apply within either Category 1 or Category 2.
Grant Request Amount: We will accept requests up to $5,000.
