Stockyards Southeast Quadrant TIF

Designation: 1992    Expiration: 2028

The Stockyards Southeast Quadrant TIF was created to strengthen the economic well being of businesses located in the southeast portion of the Stockyards Industrial Corridor. Located in the New City community, the 70-acre district is intended to provide resources that involve the analysis and remediation of soil within the district and its assembly and preparation for private projects that create jobs for area residents. At the time of its designation, much of the district was covered with debris and abandoned railroad tracks dating to the corridor's previous use for livestock processing and shipping. Funds are also intended to assist with new demolition projects and efforts to upgrade area utilities and public works. Job training is also supported by the TIF.
