What We Do
Natural Resources & Water Quality
The Natural Resources & Water Quality Division works to protect, restore, and enhance Chicago’s natural resources. The Division’s programs entail:
- Educating communities and providing residents with resources and materials to green their neighborhoods;
- Managing the grounds and public programming at the Chicago Center for Green Technology;
- Coordinating research, outreach, and ecological rehabilitation efforts in Chicago’s Calumet region;
- Managing the creation of the Ford Calumet Environmental Center;
- and Establishing policies and programs to conserve and enhance water quality, deter invasive species and expand and protect Chicago’s urban forest.
