Lobbyist Ethics Education Seminar

2-156-146 of the Governmental Ethics Ordinance states that "Each lobbyist shall be required to complete in each consecutive twelve month period an ethics education training course developed by the board of ethics. Such a course may be offered in-person, through an internet-based program, or other manner prescribed by the board of ethics.

2012-2013 Training

Every registered lobbyist must complete the City's mandatory online lobbyist ethics training course, as required by the City's Governmental Ethics Ordinance by June 30 ever year.

Penalties for failure to do so are severe. Lobbyists will be subject to a determination that they violated the City's ethics ordinance and their name can be made public as a violator, and they can be fined between $200 - $750 for each day until training is completed.

It is imperative that you submit your results to The Board of Ethics using one of the following methods:

This link will immediately launch the training. To obtain your results, you will need to print your results as outlined in the training.

If you are having trouble launching the training, please try the following to see if it resolves the issue:

Upgrade your version of the Flash Player to the latest version.
Clear your cache. You can do this in Internet Explorer by going to Tools -> Internet Options -> General -> Temporary Internet Files and select Delete Cookies and Delete Files.
Under the Security, Privacy and Advanced tabs, make sure that everything is set to the default settings.
Open a window in Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools -> Folder Options -> View.
Click Show hidden files and folders.
Locate the following folder: C:\Documents and Settings\your_name\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects
Delete the contents of this folder.
Restart your web browser.
