The Chicago Department of Family and Support Services has improved the quality and availability of the food that we provide to residents in need.

DFSS no longer provides food boxes at its Community Service Centers. In order to increase the quality and amount of food provided to residents in need, food assistance is now available at food pantries in your community.

To learn more, you can go to www.direct2food.org to find a local food pantry near you. Or if you would like to speak with a case worker at one of DFSS’s Community Service Centers, you can call 3-1-1 to be directed to the nearest center.

Benefits for You:

• More food options to choose from

• Fresh fruits and vegetables

• Pantry locations near you

• Pantries with evening and weekend hours
