February 1, 2013 - Domestic Violence Interim Housing Expansion
The Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) of the City of Chicago is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to identify and select agencies that can develop and operate a new or expanded interim housing program for families impacted by domestic violence in Chicago who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. In its capacity as a funder, DFSS is issuing this RFP and accompanying application to support such agencies by providing capital funding for facility development as well as a portion of the program’s overall annual operating budget rather than serving as the sole funder of the program.

February 7, 2013 - Head Start Nutrition Services
The Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) of the City of Chicago is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to identify and select interested and eligible organizations to provide nutrition and dietary services, technical assistance and subject matter expertise to DFSS and its Head Start/Early Head Start service providers.

February 15, 2013 - Youth Workforce Experience Programs
This is a major RFP which seeks proposals from qualified and experienced youth workforce providers under five separate program models.

March 6, 2013 - Juvenile Intervention Support Center
The Chicago Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) is seeking interested and qualified respondents to provide case management services, referrals service coordination, and advocacy for all charged youth aged 10 - 16 years and 17 years olds who have been charged with misdemeanors only, arrested in seven Chicago police districts (districts 2, 7, 8, 9, 10, 21 and may include district 11, and 15) and processed at the Juvenile Intervention Support Center (JISC). The JISC uses a multi-disciplinary wrap around approach and interagency partnerships to provide prevention and intervention services to help youth arrested for low level misdemeanor offenses and youth at risk for juvenile justice system involvement to become productive members of society, while reducing both the levels of juvenile crime and juvenile recidivism.

March 11, 2013 - Summer Nutrition Program
The City of Chicago, Department of Family and Support Service (DFSS) sponsors the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and is soliciting bids from food service vendors. SFSP provides meals to children attending summer activity programs in low-income neighborhoods. The program is intended to provide a nutritionally balanced meal to children who may be nutritionally deprived during the summer recess when the free and reduced-price lunch programs are not available. All meals served must meet the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) pattern requirements and DFSS‘s established menus.

April 29, 2013 - Enhanced Neighborhood Clean Up
The Chicago Department of Family & Support Services (DFSS), in partnership with the Chicago Department of Streets & Sanitation (DSS), the Chicago Police Department (CPD), proposes to launch a 7-month work program for former offenders and a limited number of Violence Reduction Strategy (VRS) participants that will combine elements of a transitional jobs program with intensive support and therapeutic services.

July 18, 2013 - Head Start Medical, Dental and Mental Health Services/Subject Matter Expert
The Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) is seeking to contract with capable organizations to provide and to act in the capacity of a subject matter experts and support service providers in relevant medical (including Ob/Gyn), dental and mental health issues to its Head Start and Early Head Start delegate agencies, DFSS, the Health Services Advisory Committee, the Chicago Coalition for Urban Opportunities, governing or advisory boards affiliated with the City or the delegate agencies and/or clients of the delegate agencies as needed and appropriate.
