The City Council today unanimously approved an intergovernmental agreement that increases the City’s chief procurement officer’s ability to work with other governmental entities on purchasing agreements.
“We must always be sure to get the best deal for the taxpayers,” said Chief Procurement Officer Jamie Rhee. “This agreement allows us to work with other governments to save money and time while ensuring that the City is meeting its procurement needs in the most efficient manner.”
Chicago can work with other governments in two fashions, according to the new ordinance:
In each of the above cases, all existing Chicago regulations surrounding minority- and women-owned business enterprise participation will be honored.
