Mayor Emanuel announced that the City of Chicago will host a viewing party to root on the All Stars for their upcoming game against Washington as part of the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The Jackie Robinson West All Stars -- comprised of 11- and 12-year-olds from South and Southwest side communities such as Auburn Gresham, Englewood, Chatham, Morgan Park and Washington Heights -- will face the northwest regional champions from Lynnwood, Washington, on Thursday, August 14 at 2:00 p.m.

On Saturday, the team advanced to the Little League World Series with a come-from-behind win over New Albany, Indiana. This is the first time a Chicago team has qualified for the Little League World Series since in 1983.

More details as to location and timing of Thursday’s viewing party will be announced shortly.
