Youth in Transition Summits

MOPD hosts two annual events aimed at preparing young people with disabilities who are Social Security beneficiaries for the transition to college or the workplace:

  • MOPD's Transition Summit for College Students is held annually in April
  • MOPD's Youth in Transition Summit for high school students is held annually in November

These events provide students (and their parents/guardians) the opportunity to hear from experts about how the Social Security Work Incentives can support them as they pursue their college degrees and/or employment training and placement.

MOPD works very closely with its Employment Program Partners, the Chicago Public Schools, City Colleges of Chicago, Department of Rehabilitation Services and the Social Security Administration.
