As such, MOPD is actively involved in a variety of transportation issues to ensure accessible transportation options.
These activities include:
- Representation on the Accessibility Advisory Committees for Pace Suburban Bus Company, Chicago Transit Authority and Regional Transit Authority agencies
- Assistance with the State of Illinois Circuit Breaker Applications as an eligibility requirement for the People with Disabilities Circuit Ride Free Program
- Advising on the best transportation options for people with disabilities who live and visit Chicago
- Partnering with transportation agencies to increase public awareness about new services and policy initiatives
