As a part of the 2012 budget implementation, the Mayor put into effect a $20 million Innovation Loan Fund (ILF) for investment in innovation, accountability and entrepreneurship. City departments and employees were challenged to submit proposals that push the envelope and strive for innovative solutions to keep the City of Chicago ahead of the curve.
