911

In an emergency, the number 9-1-1 is a residents’ direct link to fire and police services.

Chicago uses a world-class voice and data radio system to provide police and fire crews on the street with valuable information to help them respond quickly to emergency situations.

911 handles more than 5.4 million calls annually.

911 can also interpret more than 140 languages and dialects.
