Fans Urged to Take Public Transportation, Cautioned To Be Aware of Counterfeit Ticket Scams
The National Hockey League®, Chicago Blackhawks, Soldier Field and the City of Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications remind fans attending Saturday’s 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ game between the Chicago Blackhawks and Pittsburgh Penguins about traffic impacts and weather precautions on game day, as well as ticket and security matters.
Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday; parking lots open at 3 p.m. and gates to Soldier Field will open at 5 p.m. Spectator Plaza, the free official interactive Hockey and Entertainment Festival featuring live music, hockey-themed attractions and more will be open to the public on the Stadium Green outside Gate 6 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The weather forecast for game day is anticipated to be cold with temperatures ranging in the teens. Fans are encouraged to wear layers, and are allowed to bring blankets into Soldier Field to help keep warm. In addition, there will be two warming centers inside the stadium for fans to warm-up during the event. Attendees are encouraged to look for signs in the stadium or ask security for locations.

Counterfeit Tickets & Merchandise
The 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ Chicago game is sold out. The NHL, the Blackhawks, Soldier Field and the City of Chicago are warning fans to watch out for counterfeit tickets if attempting to make a purchase from scalpers, and urged to be aware of the following:
The NHL cautions that fans planning to attend the event could be targeted by counterfeiters attempting to sell unauthorized and poorly made knock-off merchandise.
All lots for the event are cash lots.
Soldier Field parking lots open at 3 p.m. on game day and will close after the lots are cleared immediately following the game (no tailgating permitted post-game). Those driving to the game are encouraged to pre-purchase parking in advance to guarantee themselves parking at http://soldierfield.clickandpark.com/.
McCormick Place Lots will be open as well beginning at 3 p.m. and will have shuttles transporting people to and from the lots.
The Transportation Center, located northeast of the stadium (at the corner of McFetridge and Museum Campus Drive) is where the CTA, Metra Shuttle and PACE bus services will be available for drop-off and pick-up.
Soldier Field can be reached on the #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses. CTA Train Service is available from the Roosevelt Station between State and Wabash on the Red, Green and Orange Lines. Taxi Cabs Drop Off and Pick Up
Pre-game drop-off locations: McFetridge Drive at Lake Shore Drive, Southbound LSD exit at 18th Street, Northbound LSD entrance ramp at 18th Street and Roosevelt Road at Michigan Avenue. Post-game Taxi Shuttles: Free shuttles will be made available to take fans to two locations - Michigan Avenue and Roosevelt Road and Ogilvy Train Station - where they can either pick up a taxi or take the train home. Fans exiting the stadium on the North end can pick up a shuttle at McFetridge Drive and Museum Campus, and those exiting on the South end can pick up a shuttle at 18th Street and Michigan Avenue.
ADA Drop-Off and Pick-Up Areas
Fans with disabilities may be dropped off on the circle drive (east side of the stadium) on Museum Campus Drive outside Gate 14. An ADA accessibility placard or license plate must be visible to parking enforcement personnel when re-entering for pick-up. After the start of the third period the campus will be closed to incoming traffic. Fans with disabilities can take the courtesy cart from the Gate 14 drop-off to their vehicle if parked in one of the adjacent parking lots.
