18th Ward Streets and Sanitation Office

The 18th Ward Streets and Sanitation Staff provides each residence with one refuse pick up per week. In the event that you have bulk items that need to be picked up, contact the Sanitation Office BEFORE putting the items out to prevent a ticket being issued.

Streets and Sanitation is responsible for street cleaning, weed cutting, snow removal, and bulk pick up to name just of few of their duties.

Street cleaning season runs from April 1st through November 30th, weather permitting. All cars must be removed from the street when the signs are posted for cleaning or they will be issued a ticket.

Weed cutting season begins May 1st and ends October 31st. Vacant lots, parkways and railroad properties are cut during the season. Homeowners are responsible for the maintenance of their front and back yard lawns. Yard clippings need to be disposed of in blue recycle bags.
