Archer/Central TIF

Designation: 2000    Expiration: 2024

The Archer/Central TIF is characterized by older commercial and industrial properties located along the major streets that border Midway Airport. The 193-acre district also includes airline support facilities within the limits of the airport and select residential parcels along Archer Avenue, Central Avenue and 63rd Street. The district is designed to maintain and improve the commercial and industrial properties around the airport in order to expand the Clearing community's full-time employment base. Improvements are intended to include new construction and rehabilitation efforts, as well as the creation of an improved system of roadways, utilities and other infrastructure components that better serve local companies. Ancillary projects include streetscaping, landscaping and new buffer areas between businesses and residents.
