Belmont/Cicero TIF

Designation: 2000    Expiration: 2024

Encompassing 99 acres and characterized by numerous auto-related land uses, the Belmont/Cicero TIF district has several goals. Principle objectives include developer assistance for new development projects and the rehabilitation of existing properties for uses that cater to nearby residents and workers. Priorities include the rehabilitation or replacement of structures that were adapted for purposes for which they were not created, such as car sales. In helping to promote the affected portions of the Belmont-Cragin and Portage Park communities for a diverse mix of business investment, the TIF is designed to reduce the corridor's visual and physical clutter. It is also intended to help expand job training and job readiness programs to provide residents with skills to secure jobs in the area.
