Bloomingdale/Laramie TIF

Designation: 1993    Repealed: 2008

The Bloomingdale/Laramie TIF district was designated to support existing and new industrial uses on 12 acres of land on the eastern edge of the Armitage Industrial Corridor. Priorities included the removal of blighted and hazardous structures, the implementation of environmental remediation assistance, and support for new, job-generating projects that are functionally and aesthetically integrated with neighboring properties. The district was also intended to help improve public right-of-ways to foster private investment both inside the district and on nearby industrial locations within the Austin community. No development ever occurred and it was repealed in 2008 according to state law.
