Laura Parry was appointed by Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot, and confirmed by City Council in October 2020. She is a fourth generation Chicagoan and a graduate of Chicago Public Schools. Relative to her work with the Commission, she has over 25 years of service in administrative agency proceedings as an advocate, hearing officer, administrative law judge, and positions with supervisory capacities. She also has worked in the private sector, including her role as a managing member of a business law practice. Her undergraduate work at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana earned her a B.A. with majors in Journalism and Forensic Studies and a minor in Business. She holds a Juris Doctor degree with a Certificate in International Law from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
