Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel today named Soo Choi as the next Commissioner of the City of Chicago's Department of Human Resources. Soo Choi is currently Deputy Inspector General in charge of Hiring Oversight in the Office of the Inspector General of the City of Chicago.

"Soo Choi's experience monitoring and policing the City's hiring practices makes her an ideal candidate to lead the Department of Human Resources," said Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel. "During the campaign, I pledged to overhaul the City's hiring processes. Taxpayers deserve a City government that hires the best qualified candidates, not the best connected. Soo Choi has the experience, commitment and talent needed to see that change through."
