CHICAGO - Today, Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced Richard S. Price as the newest appointee to the Illinois Sports Finance Authority (ISFA), replacing Chris Melvin, who recently moved to the Regional Transit Authority board. Mr. Price is the Chairman and CEO at Mesirow Financial, where he has served with distinction since 1972.

“I am excited to have Richard join the team at ISFA, where there are great financial challenges and opportunities for the City and State,” said Mayor Emanuel. “Richard’s unique breadth and depth of experience is impressive and will be crucial for the City’s team on this important board.”

Mr. Price joined Mesirow Financial 40 years ago and began leading its Insurance Services Division in 1982.  He initiated its growth strategy and completed numerous acquisitions to become one of the largest independent insurance agencies in the city.  He subsequently expanded his responsibilities at the firm, managing strategic initiatives and the relocation to its new corporate headquarters.  He was named President and COO in 2006 and Chairman and CEO in March 2011.

As a City of Chicago appointee, Price joins Jim Reynolds, Chairman and CEO of Loop Capital, and Norm Bobins, now chair of Norman Bobins, LLC, and previously chairman, president and CEO of LaSalle Bank Corporation.
