Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced that the City of Chicago will again host a watch party on Tuesday evening for friends, families and neighbors of the Jackie Robinson West All Stars for their upcoming game against Texas in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

“Tonight's win underscores Jackie Robinson West's unparalleled strength and resilience; I've said it before and I've said it again- never bet against Chicago's kids,” said Mayor Emanuel. “It’s been amazing to see the entire City rally around these remarkable young people, so we’ll hold another watch party so that the entire community can come together to watch the All Stars continue their historic run in the Little League World Series.”

Due to the inclement weather, the City will relocate the watch party to auditorium of Mt. Vernon Elementary School at 10540 South Morgan Street, directly north of Jackie Robinson Park where the Jackie Robinson West All Stars’ previous watch parties have been held. The game will be shown live on ESPN at 6:30 p.m. in the outdoor area of the park.

The Jackie Robinson West All Stars -- comprised of 11- and 12-year-olds from South and Southwest side communities such as Auburn Gresham, Englewood, Chatham, Morgan Park and Washington Heights -- advanced to the Little League World Series with a come-from-behind win over New Albany, Indiana.

Jackie Robinson Park is located at10540 South Morgan Park Street. For optimal viewing, attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and coolers, but park rules apply and alcohol is not permitted.
