The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) is responsible for city street, alley, sidewalk, and curb and gutter construction; bridge maintenance; public way inspections; signs and pavement markings; planter and median maintenance; bicycle and pedestrian programs; and ground-transportation planning.
