Mike Moreno, Sr. and Jr. form a father-son business partnership blazing a trail for Latino entrepreneurs in Chicago. Mike Sr., born in Mexico, opened his liquor store in Little Village in 1977, the first Latino owned liquor store in Illinois. Mike Jr. took a lead role in the family business in 2014 and helped create one of the city’s best craft beer collections. Through the work of the entrepreneurial duo, Moreno’s today boasts the largest selection of tequila and mezcal in the nation.
