The Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) has launched a citywide competition to find ‘Chicago’s Top Cabbie’. This contest is designed to reward a licensed taxi chauffeur for their heroism and/or exemplary customer service.

About Chicago’s Top Cabbie:

  • Open to all 12,000 taxi chauffeurs who are licensed by the city.
  • Competition is open from May 20, 2016 through July 20, 2016.  
  • The public can nominate their ‘Top Cabbie’ the following ways:   

 - Call 3-1-1, an operator will collect information from each caller.

 -   3-1-1 nomination form

 - Curb users can make the nomination in the comments section when rating the driver.

  • The top finalists and their nomination stories will be posted online for public voting.
  • After the top finalists are announced, the 14 day voting period will begin.
  • The top prize is a free taxicab medallion.

The contest will be advertised through social media on Facebook @ChicagoBACP @ChiSmallBiz; on Twitter @ChiBACP @ChiSmallBiz; on Pinterest @ChicagoBACP and Instagram@ChicagoBACP. Advertisements will also be placed inside cabs and on digital billboards throughout Chicago.
