Permit Applications With No Activity for 120 Days Will Be Considered Withdrawn and Deleted from E-Plan

January 12, 2018

As part of our continuing efforts to reduce the time to permit for design professional and other customers and improve E-Plan server performance, the Department will begin deleting inactive permit application packages (including drawings) from E-Plan (ProjectDox) effective February 1, 2018.   Pursuant to Section 13-32-030 of the Municipal Code of Chicago, permit applications are deemed, by operation of law, to have been withdrawn by the applicant after 120 days of no activity by the applicant or the applicant’s agent. (The 120-day period is put on hold if the applicant is actively pursuing a zoning variance from the Zoning Administrator or action before the Zoning Board of Appeals, and those permit applications will remain active in the system.)

Please note that deleted applications cannot be re-instated or re-activated in the system and a new application will be required.
