Illinois Appellate Court Affirms Police Board Decision in McDermott v. Police Board

On July 8, the Illinois Appellate Court issued its Opinion affirming the Police Board's decision to discharge Timothy McDermott from the Chicago Police Department for violating Department rules by appearing in a photograph that depicted him and another officer holding long guns and crouching next to an African-American man who was lying on the ground with deer antlers on his head and his tongue sticking out (Police Board Case No. 14 PB 2855).
